First Christian Church in Downtown Roseburg is seeking a dedicated and talented Worship Leader to join our team on a part-time basis. This individual will be responsible for planning and leading our Sunday morning worship services, blending contemporary worship music and honoring our heritage by incorporating traditional hymns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for worship, strong musical skills, and a heart aligned with our mission. While this position is initially for a part-time worship leaders, the hope is that interested candidates would be open to consider a full-position (that would include other areas of responsibilities as the interested candidate is gifted). Our church has a dedicated volunteer team including vocalists, musicians, production team technicians (sound, camera, and computer)) and are excited about adding a worship leader to help take them to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead worship for Sunday morning services.

• Incorporate a mix of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns for Sunday morning services.

• Collaborate with the senior pastor to align worship with the church's mission and sermon themes.

• Recruit, train, and lead volunteer musicians and vocalists.

• Schedule and lead rehearsals for worship teams.

• Along with our Production Team, ensure the technical aspects of the service (sound, video, lighting) enhance the worship experience.

• Lead worship for the youth group on a weekly basis in coordination with the Youth Pastor.

• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall ministry of the church.

Qualifications

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ, agreeing with and enthusiastic about the mission of First Christian Church.

• Proficiency in playing keyboard & guitar (additional instruments a plus) and the ability to sing.

• Experience leading worship in a church setting.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Creative and flexible, with a heart for worship and a desire to grow spiritually and musically.

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or comparable training/experience is strongly preferred but not required.

• Basic understanding of how to run a soundboard and assist with audio needs during services and rehearsals is strongly preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with Planning Center or similar programming/applications is strongly preferred but not required.

Salary

Up to $25/hour depending on experience (15 hours per week)
